Meditation can be an incredible way to relax, to re-energize, and to create a beautiful space for your joy, peace and purpose to manifest. For many, however, traditional meditation can feel intimidating, seem “woo-wooey”, cause frustration or, if you’re anything like me when I first attempted meditation, it may even create more anxiety with incessant thoughts of “I’m still thinking about my to-do list. I stink at meditating.”
Guided Meditation, which is a meditation experience where you are voice-guided (either in person or recorded), is a powerful way to experience the beauty and benefits of meditation, no matter if you’re new to meditating or have been doing it forever. For many of my clients, it’s proven to be an easier, more enjoyable experience. Guided Meditations often use imagery, either describing detailed images which may bring forth certain experiences, or invite the listener to allow their own images to emerge.
At times, Guided Meditations have a distinct purpose, like energizing and inspiring you to take action, releasing negative feelings and emotions, self-improvement with a particular goal or situation, or empowering your responses to people and experiences.
Guided Meditations may also be more general, with the purpose of silencing the chattering mind while creating calm, peace and relaxation.
